Founded in 1902 as Madrid Football Club, traditionally dressed in a white home jersey. Real word ("royal") of Spain and was awarded to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920 together with the royal crown in the emblem. The team has played a home game in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in downtown Madrid since 1947.
This club is the richest football club in the world in terms of revenue, with an annual turnover of € 513 million. It is one of only three clubs to have never been relegated from the top flight of Spanish football, along with Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona. Real Madrid has a lot of old rivalry, notably El Clásico with Barcelona and Madrid derby with Atletico Madrid.
